The Relic

When Owls Screech

This article is part of an ongoing campign. Information may or may not be up to date.
As "The Relic" soared through the sky, the wind whipped through its rigging and the clouds rushed past its hull. It was a sight to behold, a true masterpiece of magic and technology, bristling with power and potential.   Inside the ship, the members of Sub Rosa bustled about, tending to their various duties and responsibilities. The ship hummed with activity, as the Mikes prepared for their next mission and fine-tuned the ship's various sub systems.   As they flew, they passed over a dense forest, its canopy stretching out for miles in every direction. Suddenly, a piercing screech echoed through the air, and the crew members rushed to the ship's weapons stations, ready to defend themselves against whatever might be lurking below. Knowing that can take on wahtever they might face.   For "The Relic" and its crew, the sky was the limit, and there was no adventure too great or too dangerous for them to undertake. As they continued on their journey, they knew that they were truly living life to the fullest, and that every moment spent aboard the ship was a moment to be cherished and remembered for all time.

History

"The Relic" was once known as the "FRS Razing Nightfall," a Flying Recon Ship that belonged to the imfounus Beccian Special Forces. It was one of the most advanced vessels of its kind, equipped with state-of-the-art technology and a formidable arsenal of weapons and defensive systems. By modern military standards it is outdated.   The Nightfall was feared by its enemies, capable of conducting stealthy reconnaissance missions deep in enemy territory, as well as delivering devastating attacks against high-value targets. It was a symbol of Bec's military might. To see one hanging over your city is scary in of itself.   But then, during a top-secret mission, the Nightfall was lost without a trace, leaving Bec officials puzzled and concerned. Despite exhaustive efforts to locate the ship and its crew, it seemed to have vanished into thin air, leaving no trace of its whereabouts.   Years passed, and the Nightfall faded into legend, its secrets and power lost to the ages. That was until the ship washed up on the shores of Casgate, abandoned and seemingly forgotten. With one person remaining on it. It was discovered by the adventuring party known as Sub Rosa, who recognized the ship's true value using it to set out to the Winrich Glacier.   The Sub Rosa was able to unlock the secrets of the Nightfall, restoring its advanced systems and powerful magic letting it take flight again.

Naming

The name "Relic" comes from a fallen friend of the current owner.   "FRS Razing Nightfall's," name came from a famous painting of a FRS flying at sunset razing a city. The city in shadow and flame underglows the FRS that is bathed in the sunset's glorious light. They often recreated this vista.

. Each homunculus is only a few feet tall and has a vaguely humanoid shape, with a small head, a stocky body, and spindly arms and legs.   Despite their diminutive size, the Mikes are incredibly skilled at their work. They are essential to the smooth operation of "The Relic". They scurry about the ship, tending to its various systems and maintaining its complex machinery. Some are responsible for repairing damaged equipment, while others monitor the ship's magical energies or assist in tactical operations.   Each Mike is outfitted with its own tiny set of tools, which they use to deftly manipulate the ship's intricate mechanisms.
