(a.k.a. The Cold, The Vile, Icemaker, Queen of the North, Queen of the Wolves, Queen of Winter, and Rimemaker)
Morena is a fickle, vain, and evil deity. She is primarily venerated out of fear during the winter months in the northern part of Fair. A few in Bec worship her calling her Marzanna. She is additionally seen as being synonymous with the Queen of Winter by some communities of fey, even though she is not fey nor the true ruler of the court. However, after the severing of the worlding, she became a minor deity. Meaning she does not have a different realm to call her own but instead occupies the Prime Material Plane, making her much more mortal than the other gods. Since her linage is unknown some scholars suggest she is a human who has ascended to godhood and is not born a god herself.
While she is also a god of death she is not involved with the bureaucracy of the afterlife and is assiated with death because she is a cause. The freezing in the cold. She has been known to haunt dreams as well and sit on people's chests.
Ice, Snow, and Cold are our tools. Fire can not last forever, it needs fuel, it needs air. We are in the final state of all things, and after Bethtox has burned her last we will be all that remains. We are but the night, the darkness that all consumes. The people will know me and fear me. For I am their final state. They will know me when they see the first snow and know they have little to be happy for. - Morena

Midwinter Night: This is the holiest night of the year for Morena's followers, a festival of ice-dancing that lasts all night. It is a time for the clergy to pay homage to the goddess and offer up prayers for a bountiful winter. Druids also pay respect to Morena on this date, as they believe that she is the one who controls the balance of nature.
The Coming Storm and The Last Storm: These are informal but enthusiastically celebrated rituals where Morena's priests gather to call down howling ice storms on a region to mark the onset and end of winter. These rituals are a way for the followers to show their devotion and to celebrate the power and beauty of the snow and ice.
Auril's Blesstide or Morena's Day: This holiday is held annually in the city of The Fractured Point on the first day of new frost in the year. It is not so much a holiday as a way to seek to appease Morena in hopes of a mild winter. The citizens of the city would gather to offer sacrifices and prayers in hopes of gaining the goddess's favor and avoiding harsh winter conditions.
Frost Moon: A month-long celebration of the power of Morena, the Frost Moon is a time to reflect on the goddess's role in the world, and to give thanks for the blessings of winter. Followers of Morena would perform rituals and sacrifices to appease the goddess and ensure that winter remains mild.
The Long Night: A night of contemplation and reflection on the goddess's role in the world. Followers of Morena would spend the night in meditations and prayers, seeking guidance and wisdom from the goddess. It is also a time to remember those who have died during the winter, and to honor the goddess's role as a bringer of death.
The goal of Morena, the goddess of winter, is to maintain her power and dominance over the realm of cold and snow. Her known goal is to bring an endless winter to the land, causing widespread destruction and suffering among mortals. This endless winter serves as a reminder of her power and a warning to those who would dare oppose her.
However, it is believed that Morena also has a secret goal, one that is not widely known among mortals or even other deities. Some speculate that she seeks to eliminate all life from the land, leaving nothing but a barren, frozen wasteland under her rule. Others believe that she seeks to merge the mortal realm with her icy realm, creating a permanent and unchallenged kingdom for herself.
Regardless of her true motivations, it is clear that Morena's actions have brought great hardship to the land and its inhabitants. Her followers, known as "The Frozen," are willing to do her bidding without question, carrying out her will and spreading her influence. It is up to the brave and powerful adventurers to uncover the truth about Morena's goals and put an end to her destructive reign, before it's too late.
